A Nottingham bank has announced their closure, set to take place in early 2025.
A Nottinghamshire branch of Halifax has announced its closure for early 2025. The Bulwell bank will be closing its doors this winter, with affected customers directed to the Arnold and Nottingham city centre branches and online mobile banking.
The Commercial Road branch has announced that it will close after looking at customers' use of the bank and seeing that more of its customers used mobile banking services rather than coming into the physical branch. This decision will come into effect in January 2025, and will move its operations to the other two branches. The bank has released a document on its website detailing alternative services and options for affected customers.
Another document will be released two weeks before the closure to detail the feedback the branch has received from the local community. On average, 10 banks close in the UK every week. By the end of this year, a total of 415 banks will have disappeared from the nation's high-streets. Across Nottinghamshire, at least 16 banks have ceased operations in their local branches.
