HaloInfinite developer 343 Industries has announced that it will be bringing back Attrition, possibly through its own playlist, in the future.

343 Industries, developer of Halo Infinite, has revealed that a dedicated Attrition playlist could be coming in a future update. The Attrition multiplayer game mode was added into the game as part of Halo Infinite’s Cyber Showdown event that was held from January 18 to February 1, 2022.

Halo Infinite’s Cyber Showdown is its latest in-game event, launching a week after the conclusion of the Fracture: Tenrai event rerun that was held from January 4 to 11, 2022. 343 Industries has said that the Fracture: Tenrai event will be a regularly recurring event that will be made available at least once a month, supposedly to give players more chances to collect all of its rewards.

Thanks for playing and providing feedback on its debut. We love the mode too and we're happy to see such a positive response to it. — Andrew Witts February 1, 2022 While games like Respawn's Titanfall and Titanfall 2 have featured their own multiplayer modes called Attrition, the one added to Halo Infinite is expectedly completely different. Instead of a Team Deathmatch mode that requires players to collect points for their team through killing opponents, the way to win Halo’s Infinite’s Attrition matches is by completely depleting the team’s limited respawns and wiping them out afterwards.

With the positive reactions to Halo Infinite's Attrition game mode so far, it would be good to see it made available more regularly. While unlikely, it could be even better if it was made a permanently-available game mode. A regularly-returning dedicated Attrition playlist would at least give Halo fans something specific to look forward to. Hopefully, more news on the matter will soon be revealed.Halo Infinite is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. .
