On the same day mourners gathered in New Mexico for a vigil, the husband of the cinematographer who was shot and killed on the set of the movie 'Rust' honored her with a series of loving family photos.
According to police, she was taken by helicopter to the nearby University of New Mexico Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Souza, 48, received treatment at Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center.
Court records showed that Baldwin, 63, did not know that the prop gun he fired on set was loaded with live ammunition, nor did assistant director Dave Halls, who handed the gun to him. According to an affidavit filed in Santa Fe court, Halls yelledNo charges have been filed in the incident and an investigation is ongoing.
Halyna inspired us all with her passion and vision, and her legacy is too meaningful to encapsulate in words. Our loss is enormous, and we ask that the media please respect my family’s privacy as we process our grief. We thank everyone for sharing images and stories of her life.
