Lewis Hamilton beat Max Verstappen on three wheels at Silverstone and didn't realise it
If you think the 2023 Formula 1 season is uncompetitive, well Max Verstappen was once beaten by a three-wheeled Lewis Hamilton.with seven wins from nine, and he looks unbeatable.But he once lost to a three-wheeled HamiltonBut it was a long wait for Verstappen to finally become world champion in 2021, his eighth season in the sport.
Arriving in Silverstone to empty grandstands, Hamilton planted his car on pole position by over a second from the closest non-Mercedes car.That car was Verstappen’s Red Bull, and despite the Dutchman getting past Hamilton’s teammate Valtteri Bottas, he wasn’t even on the same planet as the Brit up ahead.
