HappyValley alternate endings finally addressed as James Norton speaks out
Happy Valley star James Norton has finally addressed reports that the final ever episode of the hit BBC police drama had alternative endings.
But Catherine refused to see through his remorse, confronting Tommy for destroying her late daughter and "reducing her to nothing". Talking about the scenes on The News Agents podcast to hosts Emily Maitlis and Lewis Goodall, James revealed that only he, Catherine star Sarah Lancashire and producers knew the top secret ending.
"And Sarah and I, I think we knew the pressure on us, but often you thrive in that kind of environment. I mean, I could say so many platitudes about her. She's genuinely very, very special and brilliant."
