‘Hard-nosed Frederic Vasseur is the right man for Ferrari…and Charles Leclerc’Newly-appointed Ferrari team boss Frederic Vasseur has a “broad” enough back to withstand the pressure that comes with his new job, and that’s great news for Charles Leclerc. As Mattia Binotto handed in his resignation after a dismal end to the 2022 season, Ferrari failing to win a single grand prix in the back half of the championship, Vasseur was immediately tipped by pundits as the next man for the job.
“Fred will have credit for now and the question will be who he can bring with him,” the former F1 driver told“He will definitely take some confidants from Sauber to Ferrari because there will also be some restructuring there.”The eight-time grand prix winner is not the first to suggest that Vasseur joining Ferrari is great news for Leclerc.
“Both were once partners in Formula 3, but then fell out. It will be interesting to see how they will work together,” Schumacher added.
