Creep yourself out and pay a visit to some of the most haunted locations in Greater Manchester

From historic pubs with mysterious floating glasses to old halls home to ghostly beings, Greater Manchester is packed full of haunted locations. There’s even a place nicknamed ‘Skull House’ - scary stuff indeed.

Wardley Hall, Worsley Anywhere which has the nickname ‘Skull House’ definitely has a creepy tale - or several - behind it. It’s the name given to Wardley Hall, Worsley, which was mentioned in the Domesday book and is the official residence of the Roman Catholic Bishops of Salford. There've been sightings of glasses mysteriously levitating and falling into pot wash all by themselves at the pub. Staff have also recalled tales of chairs being moved around and ashtrays being emptied - maybe this ghost is just looking for a tip?

Albert Hall, Manchester When the Albert Hall is packed full of gig-goers its hard to imagine any ghostly goings-on. Yet the iconic venue has even featured on the show Most Haunted. Dating back to 1908, the gothic-style building was initially the Manchester and Salford Wesleyan Mission Church, but for years was home to the nightclub Brannigans.

Ordsall Hall, Salford This spooky Tudor manor house has several resident ghosts. There is the mysterious White Lady, said to be the spirit of Lady Margaret Radclyffe who died of a broken heart in 1599 after the death of her beloved brother Alexander. Bramall Hall, Stockport Bramall Hall is said to be a hive of paranormal activity with visitors reported strange sensations, sounds and smells. There’s even been tales of the old chapel organ playing by itself.
