Going to the toilet when you don't really need to can cause a number of health problems.
An expert has outlined the potential problems that can arise as a result of going to the toilet when you don't really need.
That's according to Tiffany Sequeira, pelvic health physiotherapist who often posts helpful and informative content on Instagram under the handle @gynaegirl. She says you should always wait until you need to go, in order to keep your pelvic floor in good working condition. Speaking to the Metro, Tiffany said: "Generally, as the bladder fills, the stretch of urine pressing against the bladder wall creates signals to your brain that results in the following series of urges, eventually resulting in you making it to the toilet and passing urine."
Top Trending Stories Today A recent study from Intimna found that 44% of women have experienced weakened pelvic floor muscles, whilst over half 58% say that they release a little bit of urine when they laugh, sneeze, or carry something heavy.
