Jenny was a regular cyclist in the town and was also involved in the yoga club
Tributes are being paid to a female cyclist who lost her life in a crash in Monaghan Town on Saturday.
The collision involved a car and a bicycle and occurred at approximately 1.20pm. Ms Drew was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has been removed to Monaghan Hospital where a postmortem will take place on Sunday. Locals said Jenny was an ‘’absolute lady and an exceptionally kind person’’. She had been involved in ‘Meals and Wheel’s in Monaghan Town for a number of years helping the elderly and vulnerable.One local said ‘’She always looked so content and happy on her bicycle, I will miss her cheerful smile as she passed by up and down our road."
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them. Any road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage , and who were travelling on Cootehill Road, Co. Monaghan on Saturday October 21, between 12.30pm and 1.30pm, are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
