A heavily pregnant Derry woman has said she has become "desperate" to find housing after being told she must move within days from her temporary accommodation in a local hotel due to the city's Halloween celebrations.

And obviously, being near family support is really, really crucial for me as a as a first-time mum-to-be. So I'm due within the next 10 weeks and I have been in and out of B&Bs and hotels since April, when I found out I was pregnant.

Explaining her situation, she said: "I've applied to several private rents. But I'm a full time student mental health nurse and I've been working over my pregnancy. I've been on placement five days a week and then working two days to try and save up money." "I just made a start on my hospital bag, but that's in my mum's house. So that'll be needing to be brought to me because I can't hike that into a hotel. My next-to-me is in my other grandmother's attic.
