'But there is some good news, with the national forecast predicting that today (Wednesday) won’t be as bad as the coming days.'

Ireland is set for a few blustery days of rain, becoming intense during some points. While temperatures remain high, widespread rain is on the way with the possibility of more thunder by the weekend.

But there is some good news, with the national forecast predicting that today won’t be as bad as the coming days. Here is Met Eireann’s forecast for the week ahead:Wednesday Early tonight showers will become more isolated with clear spells for a time. However, scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle will move in across much of the western half of the country later. Lowest temperatures of 11C to 13C in light to moderate southwest breezes.

Wet and rather windy overnight too with some further blustery spells of rain. Mild and humid with lowest temperatures of 13C to 16C.
