Helen Galgey chose to make an important statement at this year's Hayu STELLAR InstaStar Awards with her fashion choice.

Helen Galgey chose to make an important statement at this year’s Hayu STELLAR InstaStar Awards. The 2FM presenter walked the carpet in a custom dress that featured the names of eight of the nine women who were murdered in Ireland in 2026.

“I came up with the concept and gave the design to SWL Designs. The names that are down my dress are eight of the women that have been killed this year. We are only in the ninth month and nine women have been killed,” she tells VIP Magazine.

“A woman was killed two weeks ago and I didn’t have time to put her on the dress. I think that says everything. The figures keep going. ”The dress reads Scarlett Faulkner, Linda Costello, Milena Ostojic, Yveta Donovalova, Masuma Sohrabi, Noreen Daly, Adina Constantin and Jamey Carney.

Jady Cristine Pereira Rosa was the name of the woman who died in August.

“It’s personal for me because I was in an abusive relationship and my partner nearly killed me. The only reason I’m here today is because he took his hands off my neck,” Helen says.

“I feel a lot of guilt around that; there’s a thing called survivor’s guilt. You don’t know why it’s not you and why it was them and why it keeps happening. I don’t know the answer.

“But I just know this could be my only chance to be photographed and not have my words be misconstrued. I was like, ‘It’s going on the dress where no one can change that. ’ I just want it front and centre because there are so many people who care. ” She continues: “There’s organisations who care, there are families who care, there are amazing journalists who are out there fighting for this cause.

But it’s not enough. People should be shocked that there’s this many and there should be one more. It’s insanity. ”Read all the winners of this year’s Hayu STELLAR InstaStar Awards
