Man airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after falling while climbing cliff in Co Waterford
A man is being treated in hospital for serious injuries after falling from a huge cliff in Co Waterford.
Several agencies were involved in assisting the man, including the National Ambulance Service, Bonmahon and Tramore Coast Guard Units. The decision was subsequently made that, due to the extent of the man's injuries, he should be airlifted to hospital by the Rescue 117 helicopter.A spokesperson for Bonmahon Coast Guard said: "Bonmahon Coast Guard unit were tasked this morning by MRCC Dublin to a cliff faller west of Bonmahon bay, the faller sustained serious injuries and was treated at the scene by the National Ambulance Service , Bonmahon and Tramore Coast Guard Units.
