A post-credits scene in the recently released Enola Holmes 2 seemed to hint at an iconic duo teaming up, but actor Henry Cavill says otherwise.
“This universe is very much Enola’s, so she’ll always be involved,” Cavill said. “I think it’s important to make that connection between the two characters.”
Cavill went on to echo statements made by director Harry Bradbeer, saying that Enola’s character is crucial to this story, and is what makes it so unique compared to other Sherlock stories. “It wasn’t a deliberate attempt to make it my own. I think living within the Enola universe, in all the literature and all the other mediums, he doesn’t have an Enola,” explained Cavill. “He has a Watson, but that’s very different from having an Enola. There’s a strong emotional connection to Enola there, there’s a similarity in how they’re raised. It allows for a slightly different viewpoint.
The sequel featured the return of Millie Bobby Brown as the titular teen detective, Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes, Louis Partridge as Tewkesbury, Helena Bonham Carter as Eudoria Holmes, and Susan Wokoma as Edith. Joining them were David Thewlis (
