Last night, gardaí carried out a search of a residence in the Ballyfermot area as part of an intelligence-led operation targeting organised crime. During the search operation, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau seized heroin to the estimated value of €280,000 and cocaine worth €12,000, pending further analysis.
A 48-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Ballyfermot Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1996. Assistant Commissioner of Special Crime Operation, John O’Driscoll, said last night’s seizure is “significant in disrupting the supply of drugs” to local communities.
