When Makayla Winchell walked onto the Granada campus as a freshman, she says she was quiet and introverted. But she excelled on the softball field. Natural speed. The ability to hit for contact.And a once quiet voice can be heard throughout the dugout as a leader of an undefeated team.
Winchell, who signed with Notre Dame in November, attributes her all-around play to CrossFit workouts and shortening her swing. Granada is the only team undefeated team in the EBAL, but the Livermore school has bigger goals than capturing a league championship.
