A HIGHLAND cow escaped its enclosure in a Glasgow country park this morning - to go cool off in a nearby river.
A woman who was walking her dog in Pollok Country Park spotted the animal chilling in the White Cart Water, on Thursday morning. The cow had escaped the Highland Cattle enclosure and made its way to the water for a bath, before wading over to the field on the other bank, leaving her calf behind.A Glasgow City Council spokeswoman said: “One of the Highland cows at Pollok Country Park decided to take a bath in the White Cart this morning then wade over to a field on the other bank.“The water at that spot was low and the animal is fine.
"At no time did she leave the park and the field she entered on the opposite bank is not open to the public."Both mum and baby are well.”
