The pub has changed hands and been given a new lease of life
The Vines, on the corner of Lime Street and Copperas Hill, closed for a major revamp in February after changing hands. The pub was purchased by The 1936 Pub Company, which owns a number of venues across the city, including Lark Lane's The Green Man and The Red Lion on Slater Street.
Today, a post confirmed The Vines will reopen at midday on Wednesday, March 29. It showed new signs and redecorated rooms, while maintaining the original late Victorian interior. He said: "The former billiards room, an awe-inspiring grand Edwardian hall, will be brought back into play seven days a week and will feature an elegant authentic ‘gin palace’ style cocktail bar."
