Plans for new holiday apartments on Preston's Winckley Square have been approved for a Grade II listed former office unit in the city centre.
Now, the Georgian terrace will be transformed into eight self-contained holiday apartments for short to medium lets.Barracks Properties Ltd are the group behind the project. They currently own and operate two serviced accommodation properties within the city of Preston, servicing a total of 10 apartments comprising of studios, one and two bed units under the trading name of City Haven Preston and Fulwood Heights.
The plans detail that there will be seven self contained studio apartments and one two bedroom apartment in the complex. The building will operate a remote checking in system where guests can self-check into the building and their apartments. Winckley Square is Preston’s finest example of a privately planned Georgian residential development modelled on the fashionable London squares of the period. Winckley Square was designated a conservation area in 1974 and contains a high concentration of listed buildings.
