A footwear wholesaler is turning 80 years old. JBI Limited will reach the milestone on June 15, and a celebration will be held for all staff at the group head office in Bacup.

John Willie had started out this business with two shoe shops, one in Rochdale and one in Bacup, initially under the name of Foresight Shoes.
Footwear made by Suttons was supplied to the market trade business of JWJ . As the market stall leases started to expire, John Willie decided to start wholesaling footwear, and negotiated with the new tenants who took over the market stalls, so that they would buy stock from his wholesale business.
