A fatal hit and run, which claimed the life of a popular GAA coach, remains under ‘active investigation’ the Garda Ombudsman Commission has confirmed.
Mr MacEneaney, 42, was struck by a vehicle - a private car that is registered to a serving garda who was off-duty at the time - and was left for dead in the early hours of the morning on Sunday, March 17. Earlier we revealed a vital piece of evidence - a registration plate from the suspected vehicle involved in the fatal hit-and-run was discovered at the scene - which enabled investigators to trace the owner of the vehicle involved.
