This article explores the importance of a holistic approach to fertility, emphasizing the role of mental well-being, lifestyle choices, and natural fertility enhancement. It cautions against viewing IVF as a quick fix and encourages couples to prioritize their overall health and financial planning before embarking on fertility treatments.

Couples struggling with infertility often feel vulnerable, leading to feelings of desperation. This can cause individuals to view In Vitro Fertilization ( IVF ) as a quick fix, overlooking restorative reproductive medicine practices. Ms. Tubridy, an expert in the field, emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach. 'Get your ducks in a row,' she advises, highlighting the significance of mental well-being and lifestyle choices.

'The headspace, the mental health, reducing overwhelm, living life well – mindset is huge in making good decisions.' Good nutrition and supplements can significantly impact fertility, she notes. Ms. Tubridy also stresses the need for financial planning before embarking on fertility treatments. 'I know it is the most horrendous thing in the world that there should ever be a price on a child – but people get themselves into horrible debt,’ she warns. 'So, you know, the sense that there are people who are living in places they wouldn’t have chosen to, downsizing their lives.' She advocates for a proactive approach to fertility, starting with a thorough medical evaluation. 'Fertility is nestled in general health - get so much stuff checked with your GP,' she advises. 'Joining the dots really can identify issues like endometriosis - often occult, it’s hidden.'Ms. Tubridy believes that strengthening natural fertility should be the primary focus before considering IVF. 'If you’re having regular sex naturally in a month, you are probably at a 21% chance if you’re under 30 of conceiving,’ she explains. 'Then the sense that IVF will give you maybe a few more points – but it’s one chance, one cycle, whereas if you’re bolstering your natural fertility you’re getting 13 cycles a year.'
