Holly Willoughby is due to return to This Morning on Monday
The BBC is reported to be plotting a bid to poach Holly Willoughby away from ITV following the wake of the Phillip Schofield scandal. Holly is reported to have received an initial approach from the BBC over in recent days.
But sources said yesterday that Holly is "saddened" to see her former co-host like that. The source said: "Seeing Phil so downtrodden and in a bad way was distressing for a number of people who know him personally. There is a big team on This Morning and it was shocking for people to see him that way. It is an incredibly sad situation. Phil has his daughters and friends supporting him now.
A source said yesterday: “Holly has had a good relationship and an open dialogue with BBC bosses since she hosted Freeze the Fear.
