Holly Willoughby announced she was stepping down from This Morning on Tuesday night in a statement on social media.
Holly Willoughby's friends are angry on her behalf as the beloved presenter was 'forced' to leave This Morning.
Holly, 42, has now resigned from This Morning in the wake of the alleged plot but friends insist she had no choice. A friend close to the star told The Mirror: “She is in a bad way but some things aren’t worth it no matter how much she adored This Morning. It’s terrible that one of our best presenters felt she had no choice.”
Holly announced her decision to quit online. She wrote: “I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family. I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning. The 42-year-old has had a difficult year at This Morning after her long-term co-star and best friend Phillip Schofield sensationally quit the show before admitting to an affair with a younger male colleague. Phillip, 61, cut ties with ITV and was dropped by his management after coming clean about his relationship with the runner.
