Holly Willoughby was once the shining star of ITV , fronting two of its biggest shows in This Morning and Dancing on Ice. Now, after the channel confirmed there are no plans for DOI to return, Holly has been left without a show on ITV for the first time in 21 years - since her start on C ITV 's Ministry of Mayhem in 2004..
"Every year, just when January felt at its greyest, Dancing on Ice arrived like a burst of glittering, dazzling light, warm, joyful, and full of heart. Acknowledging the end of an era, an ITV representative stated: "Following another successful series earlier this year, Dancing On Ice will be rested in 2026 with no current plans for another series."
The 12 celebrity contestants often earn six-figure sums due to the months of intense training required to prepare them for performances on the ice. ITV also shells out hefty fees to presenters Holly and Stephen, the 12 professional ice-skaters, and four judges - including ice-skating legends Torvill and Dean, former Strictly star Oti Mabuse, and dance expert Ashley Banjo. Additionally, they have to maintain the purpose-built studio rink at Bovingdon Airfield in Hertfordshire.
