Homes evacuated and roads closed for hours after 'serious' house blaze
Houses have been evacuated and roads closed for hours after a serious house fire in Nottinghamshire. The blaze broke out at 11.17am on Wednesday, July 6 in Cocking Lane, Treswell - near Retford.
The roads surrounding Cocking Lane are expected to remain closed for "some time" after the incident. In an update posted at 4pm, a spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue said: "Cocking Lane and surrounding roads in Treswell remain closed while emergency services deal with this incident. They are set to remain closed for some time. Thank you to the local community for your patience, please avoid the area if possible.
