Clips of the shocking incident, which were filmed onboard a Dublin Bus service, were uploaded to TikTok on January 18 - but it remains unclear if that was the same day the incident occurred.
Gardai have launched a probe after a teenager threatened a bus passenger with a screwdriver and a pair of vice grips.
The teen also opened his pocket to show he was also carrying a vice grips. The youngster can be heard making multiple threats while hurling xenophobic and homophobic slurs at him. The Irish Mirror understands that the teen who brandished the screwdriver is under the age of 15 years old and is known to Gardai. Other members of the group who are seen in the video are also in their early teens with one understood to be under the age of 13.
The Irish Mirror are aware of which bus route the incident took place on but has decided not to publish this information.
