House prices fell further again in September by 0.4 per cent, following a drop in August, according to HalifaxThe typical UK home now costs £278,601, around the level seen in early 2022, Halifax said, but the average property price remains more than £39,000 above pre-pandemic levels.

“While many sellers are now being more realistic in setting their asking price, we’re still regularly seeing homes go for tens of thousands under asking as proceedable buyers press home their advantage.
