The woman believes a copy of the smart electric key was cloned!
She said: “I have never heard of this before, but Mercedes told me it is possible that gangs have a device that can deduct all the data from the key if they are near enough.”A week on from the theft, the victim continued: “I am still shocked. I am not able to sleep at night because I am so panicked. She said she used to put her phone on silent at night but now leaves it on to get the notifications in case the cameras pick up on any movement outside her house.
“I have footage of them stealing the car and their faces are clear, I really don’t know why the police aren’t able to catch them.” The woman has also claimed that the same type of theft happened to her friend who owns a Mercedes E Class. She said: “They live in Watford too and had their car up for sale. These people came to view it, went for a test drive, but then came back in the early hours of the morning and stole it.”
