Households may miss out on €125 bonus if they don’t meet one specific criteria

We are heading for the final confirmed electricity credit as people should have already started receiving the bonus, but there is one lesser known criteria that people need to meet

The final confirmed Electricity Account Credit will be paid between 1 January and 28 February 2025, with people already starting to receive it.

The low usage threshold is where you use less than 150kWh of energy a quarter between 1 September 2023 and 31 August 2024.If you own multiple properties, such as a holiday home, in Ireland, you can expect to receive a separate electricity credit for each account. Close to the time, energy suppliers with pre-pay meters will contact their customers with more specific instructions on how to redeem the €125 credits.
