McGeeney is now rightly basking in the praise after leading Armagh to their second All-Ireland
A chance meeting in a popular Dublin nightclub changed the course of Kieran McGeeney's football career.
But back in 1998, McGeeney was in his ninth season with Armagh and hadn't even played in an Ulster final.He was working for the Irish Sports Council in Dublin and went for a few pints one night with Armagh teammate Diarmuid Marsden. So it wasn't a huge surprise that they bumped into players from Na Fianna, who were drowning their sorrows after losing the Dublin county final to Kilmacud Crokes earlier that day.
