The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power stunt coordinator Vic Armstrong explained how previous work he'd done for the Indiana Jones film series inspired an important stunt for Halbrand in season 1 of the fantasy TV series. Prior to the reveal that Halbrand is Sauron, the disguised Dark Lord accompanied Galadriel and the Númenórean armies to the Southlands, intent on fighting off an Orc army led by the dark Elf Adar.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY In an article by The Hollywood Reporter, Armstrong explains that Halbrand eventually knocking Adar off his horse in The Rings of Power was inspired by a similar stunt from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. He revealed how influential his past work as a stunt coordinator was to his role behind the scenes of The Rings of Power, underscoring how he was able to bring decades of dedication to the series.

One of the more iconic parts of the show happened in season 1, episode 2, where a panicked Galadriel swims away from a massive sea creature that kills almost everyone on a boat full of stranded humans. The action in the scene is more one-sided, with the monster tearing apart a makeshift life raft, but it is nonetheless intense because of the danger Galadriel faces.
These dangers are sure to have an impact on The Rings of Power season 2 as well, now that Sauron has returned to Mordor. With The Rings of Power showrunners teasing a multi-episode battle in season 2, it appears the inspired action sequences of the series are just getting started.
