Man United play Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday and here's how our writers think they should start.
United began their season with a 1-0 victory against Wolves, but they were most recently defeated against Tottenham and it's important Erik ten Hag's side bounce back against a side who just survived relegation last term.
The left-back situation reflects unfavorably on Erik ten Hag. Tyrell Malacia was his first signing and he has looked Eredivisie standard for much of his time at United, while he has been unfit for upwards of a month. Diogo Dalot at least has experience of playing at left-back. There had to be changes after Ten Hag has picked the same team against Wolves and Tottenham, resulting in two underwhelming performances, and injuries mean there will be at least two.
In midfield, Casemiro and Fernandes will keep their places. Eriksen is the obvious favourite to replace Mount, but the centre of the pitch needs an injection of energy and aggression and as good as Eriksen is on the ball, he doesn't provide that. McTominay is undoubtedly the safer bet at Arsenal next week and he should get the nod here as well.
