Brissett is an excellent game manager who traditionally hasn’t turned the ball over much. He’ll be supported by a top five defense that won’t surrender many points and should take the ball away more this season.

I answer questions about Jacoby Brissett, Anthony Schwartz, and more.How many games do the Browns need to win with Jacoby Brissett to be playoff contenders this year? Do you think it’s possible?I think the Browns need to win five or six games with Brissett at the helm, and I do think it’s possible.
The first four games are relatively easy before the Browns hit a formidable seven-game stretch. If they can win the turnover battle each week, they can win a lot of games. Ideally for the Browns, they’ll go 6-5 with Brissett, and then possibly 4-2 with Deshaun Watson. Ten wins might be enough for a Wild Card spot. Yes, I think it’s possible. Not easy, but possible.
That’s barely getting his feet wet as a rookie, and Schwartz was always going to need a lot of at-bats as a young, raw prospect. Suffering a knee injury the first week of training camp didn’t help matters. Schwartz, who’s looked good in practice, needs to regain his confidence and play aggressively. At times he looks tentative. He needs to be willing to fight for the contested ball and sacrifice his body to make the catch.
As for why so many QBs, the Browns believe Joshua Dobbs, Kellen Mond and Josh Rosen all have good upside potential as developmental prospects, and if they progress, some of them might become tradeable commodities. I still think the Browns should’ve signed an experienced backup, and maybe they still will at some point.
