There is only one Premier League match scheduled to take place on this weekend’s ‘Super Sunday’

The 2018 Ryder Cup was staged at Le Golf National in France and coverage of the event meant there was only one Premier League game on the same Sunday: Cardiff City vs Burnley.

The schedule in England’s top flight was not impacted the last time golf’s showpiece team event was hosted in the U.S., back in 2021. But the game at the Emirates Stadium kicked off before play had got underway at the Ryder Cup, allowing viewers to watch the conclusion of both events on Sky Sports on the same day.

It is a team competition contested by Team Europe and Team USA which are made up of the best golfers from the respective regions.
