The Best Picture category at the Academy Awards is always contentious, and this year is no exception. For the second consecutive year, the category has been limited to 10 films which represent the most remarkable achievements in cinema from the past year.

Everything Everywhere All at Once This surreal sci-fi comedy from filmmaking duo the Daniels has dominated the Oscar nominations, with nods for all four of its lead actors, as well as best director and screenplay. It is available to stream with a subscription to Amazon’s Prime Video. It is also available to rent from Apple TV, Google Play, Rakuten and YouTube from £3.49, and can be bought on the same platforms from £9.99.
Top Gun: Maverick Screen icon Tom Cruise delighted fans when he returned to the cockpit after 25 years for the Top Gun sequel. It is available to stream with a subscription to Paramount Plus, which can be added on to an Amazon Prime Video or Apple TV subscription for £6.99 a month after a seven-day free trial.
