Ireland's streaming numbers saw a significant 12% increase compared to the previous year, with 108.9 million singles streamed, purchased, or downloaded. Hozier ’s hit Too Sweet was the biggest-selling single by an Irish act in 2024 while Fontaines DC had the most bought album with Romance. Some 108.9 million singles were streamed, purchased or downloaded according to the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA) 2024 end-of-year report. This is 12 per cent higher compared to the year before. Ireland’s love for singer-songwriters runs true as Noah Kahan ’s Stick Season was the highest-selling single of the year and the most-streamed track with 24.

The record was also the best-selling album on vinyl with 6,003 sold. In total in Ireland in 2024, 397,000 vinyls were sold. The Tortured Poets Department was a massive hit globally following the singer’s Era’s Tour. It sold 112,000 vinyls in total, which is the most of any album in its first year of release this century. Video track streams have also increased. Over 544 million were streamed in Ireland in 2024, which is up 4 per cent from the previous year. Cocomelon’s Wheels On The Bus was the most streamed video track, with 3.2 million streams. Taylor Swift and Noah Kahan were the most-loved artists in Ireland last year, with both artists getting mammoth streams on Spotify. According to Spotify Wrapped, Taylor Swift was the country’s most-listened-to artist, followed by Noah Kahan, Zach Bryan, Kanye West and Billie Eilis
