🔴 Women are resorting to 'unsafe practices' including cutting their doses in half as they struggle to make supplies of HRT medication last amid a second national shortage
breakdown in communication between the GovernmentHRT is used by around two million women in the UK to help alleviate symptoms associated with the menopause.
Katie Taylor, 53, began taking HRT in 2016, having spent four years suffering from misdiagnosed anxiety, depression, aching joints and heart palpitations. “Women who were taking two tablets of progesterone are asking can they just take one,” she said, adding that she advises women not to do this but some are “taking the risk”.
“A lot of them are going to five different pharmacists and then only getting maybe half a prescription,” she said. “I spoke to one lady based in north west London who couldn’t get any Eugesterone and only a little Progesterone so she drove to Dorset to get her prescription fulfilled, which is just ridiculous.
