EXCLUSIVE: It's unknown how long the device had been concealed at the facility before it was found by a staff member last year
A covert recording device was discovered at a healthcare facility in Sligo by Health Service Executive staff last year, the Irish Mirror can reveal.
Questioned about the incident on Thursday, a spokeswoman for the HSE did not say whether the device had the capacity to record video as well as audio footage.READ MORE: Man who followed woman home and attacked her on doorstep claims he cant remember Other data breaches that were reported last year include one instance in which a record containing personal and medical information relating to a patient was found by an external company among dirty linen from the Portiuncula Hospital.
Last July, a radiography image relating to a patient at Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore was accidentally sent to a printing company, resulting in another data protection breach.
