Nine children have sadly died so far from the illness
News broke this afternoon that four-year-old from North Dublin had sadly passed away, and it could be the 10th death in children linked to Strep A.
"This is still being considered actively, so as I speak to you we haven't confirmed that, it is subject to further laboratory investigation," he said. Dr O'Moore said two deaths had been associated with this illness, both of which were in older people.Doctors are being urged to act quickly in giving antibiotics to children with suspected Strep A symptoms to give them the best chance of fighting off the infection, National World reports.
