HSE is urging thousands of eligible people to get spring COVID booster to avoid a 'seasonal surge' this winter.

Vaccines are available at walk-in vaccination clinics around the country over the coming days and no appointment is needed. “It's really important because although levels of COVID at the moment are thankfully low, we are aware that we can get surges in infection,” he said. “We know that we have to think ahead to the winter period when we may see another seasonal surge, and it's really important that people get the vaccines that they're recommended.”“It's also very important to remind people that this spring campaign is time limited,” he said. “And so we're going to be stopping this programme in around mid-June.”
