A large welcome home party is being planned for a young boy who has spent seven weeks in hospital since he was attacked by a pitbull dog in Co Wexford.

Nine-year-old Alejandro Miszan was discharged from Crumlin Children’s Hospital this week after the attack on November 27. The attack occurred while he was playing with friends on a green area near his home in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford.

The family also thanked all the doctors and nurses who cared for him while in hospital but added that he still has a long road of treatment ahead. The young car enthusiast is set to be thrilled by a sea of cars which will line up outside his home in the Forgelands Estate at 7.30pm. “A big welcome home is being organised by friends of the family. Alejandro is a lover of cars and car enthusiasts of all kinds are being encouraged to gather at the Promenade in Enniscorthy for 7pm with the plan to drive to Forgelands Estate for 7.30 pm as a way of showing Alejandro how much support there is for him in the community and beyond.
