Emergency services were alerted to the grisly find between Shrewsbury and Ironbridge by a member of the public at around 9.15pm on Saturday night. Police and the fire service helped recover the remains from the village of Cressage – and experts later confirmed that they were human.West Mercia Police explained in a statement: ‘It is thought they have been in the water for a significant amount of time.‘An investigation has been launched and all lines of inquiry are being explored.’Detective Chief Inspector John Weaver added: ‘We are in the very early stages of this investigation and inquiries are ongoing.
