The fund-raising event will fund vital cancer support
Nottingham's Culture Crawl is this back - this time with a new route. The event takes in some of the city's most iconic buildings with entertainment along the way.
The 10k walk is organised by Maggie's Nottingham, to raise funds for the cancer support centre in the grounds of Nottingham City Hospital. The 2024 event will take place earlier than usual, on July 5, starting at Lakeside Arts in University Park. The walk will finish at Nottingham Castle but not before stop-offs at Wollaton Hall, the Jubilee Campus, The Park and Nottingham Canal.
There will be performances from Beat Feet Drumming, Rockabillies at Wollaton Hall, the Robin Hood Choir and the Tuneless Choir at the end, with food from MemSaab and a glass of fizz.Registration for the event is £20 and participants are asked to raise £80 in sponsorship to help support local people with cancer. If you would like to take part, you can sign up here.
Last year a walk in Rushcliffe replaced the Culture Crawl. In 2022, 160 participants walked across the city, raising £12,000. The money helps to fund specialist support for cancer patients and their families, including 1-2-1 psychological support, help with financial worries and workshops on relaxation and creative therapies.
