Hurricane Ernesto has been travelling over the Atlantic Ocean and is expected to arrive in Ireland later today, with two counties under a wind warning from Met Eireann

Hurricane Ernesto may bring up to 100km/h winds as Met Eireann pinpointed when the harsh conditions will hit land.

Weather Alerts Ireland explained that wind speeds may range from 80km/h to over 100km/h depending on the county. “Tomorrow evening strong winds from the remnants of Ernesto will be pushed into Ireland. Gusts exceeding 90km/h are expected in many western coastal areas with some exposed spots possibly seeing over 100km/h. Some models are showing higher gusts so we will keep an eye on it.
