Hurricane Milton continues to churn in the hot Gulf of Mexico waters, with windspeeds reaching 257km/h this morning.
Currently forecasters predict its landfall sometime between 2am and 6am on Thursday local time, which translates to between 7am to 11am on Thursday in Ireland. With Milton, forecasters warn of a possible 10 - 15ft storm surge in Tampa Bay. It is the highest surge ever predicted for that location and has led to evacuation orders for communities all along the coast.
With the storm expected to remain fairly strong as it crosses Florida, hurricane warnings were extended early Tuesday to parts of the state's east coast.
