Police footage that has been released following the death of a 29-year-old black man who died after being arrested in the state of Tennessee shows police officers kicking and punching the motorist as he calls out for his mother., who died in hospital on 10 January, three days after he was arrested.
Four video clips released by the Memphis Police Department on Friday chronicle the traffic stop and its violent aftermath. Other footage shows a later struggle when officers catch up with Mr Nichols. Two officers hold the 29-year-old down as one officer kicks him and another appears to hit him with a baton.
