Derry have fallen a long way from their impressive League form, and I don't have any sympathy for their management team
It's a week since I sat down to watch Galway v Derry, and I was curious to see how the latter would react to their defeat to Donegal. They started well, looking to be doing exactly what was needed - get over Galway and get the show back on the road. Then I was watching Ciaran McFaul lash out. He was lucky enough to just get a yellow and I was thinking 'what's that about?'
Whatever happened in that six week block after the Donegal defeat - be it injuries, the nature of the training, or something else - but they’ve lost their focus. A lot of the blame needs to lie at the door of management. You don’t do stuff like McKinless did at that stage of the game if everyone has bought into the process.
Enda Varley blocked my run, and fell to the ground. I knew he was there and stamped down on his neck. Straight red card. Fully deserved. I don’t believe Donegal will get away with sitting in that low block again and letting Tyrone dictate the pace,
