Walking into the cute little cafe in Cheshire it's something that'll make you smile as soon as you enter and that's because you're greeted by cheery staff.
A cup of tea and a slice of cake sounds amazing at any time of the day, but it's nothing like you'll get at Morley Tearooms.
Simon isn't daft and knows how great his wife's bakes are, especially having sampled them over the last 13 years of marriage. The corrie star is often seen tucking into a huge slab of cake or even helping out when they need another set of hands. The café itself has a range of tables inside, and there's also a bench of colouring pads and pencils for younger guests to enjoy. On sunny days you've also got the added bonus of a raft of outdoor seating too.
The sponge is so light it’s as if angels have whipped the thing together. The jam in the centre is a glorious gloop with lumps of fruit, all topped with a layer of fluffy cream. Just as all good cake should be, it makes you nostalgic for something in your past. While feeling very glad that you’re getting to eat this very much in the present.
