A teenager's entire world changed in a matter of hours after she started going into labour during a high school gym class - having no idea she was pregnant until she gave birth in hospital later that day
While most women notice an increased size in their baby bump during the second trimester, others go to full term without showing. That's exactly what happened to one young mum who claims she didn't know she was pregnant until she was in hospital giving birth.
She said: "My mum had no idea she was pregnant with my sister. She was a teenager and was pretty tiny. She didn't gain any weight and she said she still had her period. In her high school gym class she started getting contractions. Her father took her to the hospital and they told her she was just having a miscarriage and to go home.
According to Baby Centre, about 1 in 475 women don't realise they're pregnant until week 20 and 1 in 2,500 have no idea until they're delivering the baby. Commenting on the post, one user said: "I have children of my own but I can believe it. Cryptic pregnancies don’t present any symptoms and women usually carry so differently that sometimes the baby grows upward and inward instead of out.
"She was pregnant and had no idea. The baby was delivered and went to the NICU, mum survived, received a blood transfusion and got to see her unexpected child shortly after. The most scared I've ever seen a person."
